Introduction

Hello! I'm Alejandro U. Alvarez, an engineering student at Universidad de Oviedo (Spain). I started programming during my Freshman year in Brookline High School (Boston, MA), and then got more and more interested in web development. I'm currently involved in many projects, most of them related to social networking. I mainly develop the database schemas and back-end systems. I was inspired to redesign my website by my friend Qiming Fang

I love new ideas, trying new tools and working with new people. When it comes to work, I love git and apps like Teambox. I currently work with my friend Jaime Caballero in our little startup nuo studio

VayaCoñazo 2013

An entertainment site, mixing an RSS aggregator and a "rage comic" site where users submit their content. It pulls content from its own database and a lot other sources, combining everything on the same feed.

There is also a video viewer that displays the latest videos in a nice AJAX interface

Check it out! VayaCoñazo.com

Cloudclient 2012

An open source client for cloud services like Dropbox. It is still under development, although it already has plenty of features. It works nicely on desktop and tablets.

The full source code for it can be found on its Github page, if you want to help out fork it!

It's already online at Cloudclient.es, if you want to try it

Que Piensas 2011

Spanish social network fully integrated with Facebook and Twitter. It alows users to express their opinion on their friends.

It was build from scratch by Jaime Caballero and me. It uses jQuery, lots of AJAX and a PHP backend.

Currently on closed private beta at Quepiensas.es. If you want an invitation to take a look contact me

Chevismo 2009

Entertainment site featuring many popular tools and services. Also a chat, forum, and many other sections that users discover over time.

This was mostly done to experiment with some new things, but it got quite popular in Spain so I kept on working on it. Visit Chevismo

DJs Music screenshot

DJs Music 2007

Music sharing website where independent DJs upload their mixes and original songs, packed with features developed over the years.

The site is now translated in 5 languages, and is popular in many different countries.

The design is growing a bit old, and I already have some ideas for new things there, but I still need to get some free time! Visit DJs Music
